Wow! What happened to 2015! We were on our toes all year – the HRN Team will not likely see another of dramatic year like that again – hopefully. A sense of startup intensity never leaves us with growth, new venues, new suppliers, 60% new clients, rebranding, new offices, etc. and we weren’t only stretched with the new, we faced some serious hurdles along the year to scale the business. Sincere thanks to all in our community for making it happen! Its impressive when you look back (+5000 people to our 2 shows this year from 400 people just 4 years ago). Next year, we celebrate our 5th Birthday and with new found resilience, perspective and experience in the team we are actually looking forward to beating the inflated expectations we have come to expect year on year … and as ever we keep a few surprises up our sleeves.
Normally, we do a slick Christmas animation, however this year I decided to personalize the animation for our Christmas party instead. As a result, we ended up having bundles more fun involving the entire team in making this years Christmas Cards instead (example above), it brought out the inner child 🙂 – the positioning required for letters S and R only for the bravest children in our office, what a giggle! Strongly recommend!
2016 (MMXVI) will be a leap year starting on Friday of the Gregorian calendar, the 2016th year of the Common Era (CE) and Anno Domini (AD) designations, the 16th year of the 3rd millennium, the 16th year of the 21st century, and the 7th year of the 2010s decade. Word on the street is that 2016 will see the most exciting shows on the planet from 15-16 March in London and 25-26 October in Paris (New Website) … and an old friend mentioned to me recently an event of equal stature, fun and an old job of mine – the Olympics, are in Rio De Janeiro in August!
To celebrate 2015 here is a signature of our most recent work to sign off on 2015 – you’ve got to watch Sir Richard Branson strangling Sir Jason Averbook for sending in his presentation slides late again this year. Word of warning to all speakers for 2016!
I also kept my warm-up interview with Sir Richard Branson before he took to our Main Stage until now because, it has a little message at the start – new year’s resolution’s and what this time of year is all about – family.
So keep safe and do not be stupid like me yesterday and take the trail bike down the wooded hills and crash land on something harder than you … like granite 🙂 … for that reason unfortunately it looks less likely that I can go home to Ireland to see my family. Alas, my children and Santa Claus will keep me on his toes – as long as Santa doesn’t have any more accidents and fall off the roof!
Happy holidays from all of us here at HRN! Happydays! Marc.
